File - Page Setup

The Page Setup dialog is a standard Windows dialog that appears for layouts.  It allows us to set the page size, source (used with printers that have multiple trays for paper used), portrait or landscape orientation and margins.

Format

Paper size. Choose a paper size from standards listed in the pull down menu, or choose (custom) to specify a custom size using the Width / height boxes.  The last used paper format is automatically saved between Manifold sessions.

Standard paper sizes include international sizes A2 through A6, B4, B5, and US sizes Executive (7 x 10 inches), Ledger (11 x 17 inches, same as Tabloid), Legal (8.5 x 4 inches), Letter (8.5 x 11 inches), Statement (5.5 x 8.5 inches), and Tabloid (11 x 17 inches, same as Ledger).

Choosing standard format automatically loads the dimensions for that format into the Width / height boxes.   Choosing (custom) enables the boxes with the last-used dimensions loaded.

(orientation)

Choose portrait (the default) or landscape.   The last used orientation is automatically saved between Manifold sessions.

Width/height

Automatically loaded showing the paper size (display only) when a paper size is chosen in the Format box.  Enabled for changes when (custom) is chosen in the Format box.

(units)

Units of measure in which paper sizes and margins are reported.  Choose in, mm, or pt for inches, millimeters, or points.  The last used units are remembered in between Manifold sessions, making it easy to choose the desired units once and then always having them as the default.

Measurements for paper sizes and margins are automatically rounded based on the units of measure: measurements in millimeters are rounded to 1 decimal position, measurements in inches to 2 decimal positions, and measurements in points to 1 decimal position.

Left / bottom margin

Margins in the chosen units for the left margin and the bottom margin.   The last used margins are automatically saved between Manifold sessions.

Right / top margin

Margins in the chosen units for the right margin and the top margin.    The last used margins are automatically saved between Manifold sessions.

OK

Apply any changes and close the dialog.

Cancel

Close the dialog without applying changes.

Notes

Manifold Viewer is read only, viewing software that does not print.  Although the File - Page Setup dialog appears in Viewer, to enable layouts to be switched to different orientations, margins and paper sizes, commands used for printing, such as the File - Print and File - Print Preview menu commands, are not available in Viewer.
